Sport Profession Penpal

Hello again world, I am writing this to tell you about my Sport’s Penpal. At the start of the year after my parents went on a trip to one of their friend’s weddings, they came back with great news for me and told me how one of my dad’s old coast guard friends is currently working for the Seattle Seahawks as the Vice President of Outreach & External Affairs. Mr. Flood definitely has had his fair share of work in communication as the Vice President of Outreach & External Affairs. His job seems to have a lot to do with communication and the focal point of his position. When my parents told me about him instantly, my eyes lit up and I asked them for his email and number so I could get in contact with him and see if he would be interested in mentoring me or even just answering some of the questions that I had about how he got to where he was, what advice he would give to himself in the past, what would he recommend a student who aspires to work for a major professional team, etc. Since then I have been in contact with Mike Flood a few times. The first time we talked, I introduced myself to him and told him my story about what I wanted to do, I also thanked him for taking an interest in me and giving me the time of day because I was sure that there were things that he would rather be doing or had to be doing than talking to a college student whose major is sports management. I of course told Mr. Flood about this assignment, and he was more than willing to be considered my “pen pal.” I can’t wait to work more closely with Mr. Flood on this assignment as I learn more about the sports industry from a true professional.
