A one-day community basketball summit designed for beginner adult women. It combines skills workshops, a mini-tournament, and a professional roundtable, showcasing your pen pal’s organization, coaching philosophy, and industry network.
Inspired by my pen pal’s passion for community outreach and my own experience empowering adult learners on the court, I envisioned an event that would both teach fundamentals and connect participants with professional athletes. After our first video call, I sketched a timeline, then iterated based on his feedback about realistic budgets and ideal guest speakers
- Program Design & Logistics: mapping out venue options (community gym vs. Seahawks practice facility vs. Kraken hockey arena), budgeting with NFL-scale sponsorships in mind
- Promotion & Marketing: crafting a Seahawks-branded social campaign, leveraging official team channels and local media
- Content Creation: designing branded graphics (Seahawks + “Her Hoops” identity), prototyping a video teaser with Seahawks
- Professional Networking: tapping the penpal’s Seahawks contacts to secure speakers, sponsors (e.g., local Seahawks partners), and media coverage
- Find a philanthropy willing to sponsor the event and partner with you. (Wounded Warrior Program, or Make-A-Wish Foundation) Interviewing one of them at halftime to spread awareness for their philanthropy
- have to find a professional photographer that can stay until the end of the event
- Have to find medical staff to be on standby. during and until the event is over
