I understand the questions on
the scale and their relevance to diagnosing a disorder.
Different patterns of social media use across the world can be attributed to various
factors. First, access to the internet is uneven; some individuals, due to government control,
geographical location, or monetary issues, cannot access social media or have limited access.
Strict government control can restrict internet access, and geographic limitations can prevent
connectivity. Additionally, some individuals cannot afford internet access, further limiting their
social media use (Smith, 2020).
Another reason for these differing patterns is how people allocate their time. In some
parts of the world, individuals focus more on survival and the well-being of their families,
leaving no time for social media. In contrast, people in America and other first-world countries
have full access to the internet through personal devices and government-subsidized programs.
Even those who cannot afford internet service can access free Wi-Fi at local libraries or coffee
shops (Johnson, 2019).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Alexander TrevinoProfessor UmphletCYSE201SDue: July 7, 2024MODULE 9 JOURNALOn the Social Media Disorder scale, I scored 1 “yes” and the rest “no.” I have had issueswith limiting my time on social media, particularly on my phone.
