Early films like &#8220;WarGames&#8221; (1983) and &#8220;Hackers&#8221;<br>(1995) dramatized hacking with unrealistic scenarios. &#8220;WarGames&#8221; showed a young hacker<br>nearly triggering World War III, while &#8220;Hackers&#8221; portrayed hacking as a glamorous, rebellious<br>activity.<br>As technology advanced, media depictions evolved. &#8220;The Matrix&#8221; (1999) introduced more<br>realistic hacking elements, though still stylized. Characters used actual hacking commands and<br>tools, marking a shift towards accuracy. Recent portrayals, such as in &#8220;Mr. Robot&#8221; (2015-2019),<br>have been praised for their authenticity. The show delves into the complexities of hacking, using<br>real-world techniques and highlighting how hackers exploit human vulnerabilities. This<br>representation reflects true cybersecurity challenges.<br>Despite these improvements, media often exaggerates hacking for dramatic effect,<br>presenting it as quick and easy. The stereotype of lone genius hackers persists, ignoring the<br>collaborative nature of real cybersecurity professionals.
