Considering that I am pursuing my Bachelors’s in Cybersecurity I would say that it relates a lot to Cybersecurity. Unfortunately, upon my arrival here at ODU, my declared major was Mechanical Engineering. So as for my classes and the knowledge, I should hold about Cybersecurity I believe to be a little behind other Sophomores with the same major. I am anxious and excited to finally dive into these core classes, prior to this semester I have taken ‘Intro to Object-Oriented Programming’. In this course, I learned how to work with Java script through the program Netbeams. I cannot say I was the biggest fan of programming but I did also learn I could obtain a job in this field that doesn’t require intimate knowledge on programming. I also took an ‘Intro to Info. Systems’ this course was very informative on things like OS, hardware, software, data, and more. I enjoyed this course because it expanded on topics that prior I had only had a brief understanding of. Being that Cybersecurity is and refers to the many different technologies designed to protect devices, data, and networks from attack damage or unauthorized access I can only imagine how threats will continue to grow with new technologies. Dare I say I am excited for these potential problems to arise and what new technologies will surface in response to future threats. The world of technology is expanding and it is cool to know where it started and imagine how far we can go and am honored to be entering such a field.
