For my CYSE 200T online course we were asked to see if we could find anything on google about ourselves. My name is Alexandria Tanner but I generally go by Lexi, so that is where I began my search. I first searched “Lexi Tanner” into google. Although not my first name I knew that the majority of people only know me as Lexi and that includes any social sites I am on. I found that there are a lot of women by the name of Lexi Tanner and took a ton of scrolling before I could find myself on Facebook. To potentially narrow the search I searched “Lexi Tanner VA”. In adding “VA” to my search I appeared 21st on Facebook. However, I fell short when it came to finding myself in the images when I searched for either Lexi or Alexandria. I also found a Youtube account I made as an adolescent, slightly embarrassing as I am sporting a redskins hat in the profile picture (don’t get me wrong the redskins ARE my team but we suck). As far as any other form of media I was unable to find myself on anything other than Facebook and Youtube. I do not want to claim I am surprised by this but it was a surprise to see that I am not so easy to find. I shouldn’t be so surprised as I do try not to use my real name whenever I can get away with it online. Now I know that anyone attempting to find anything on me will be very disappointed in their findings and lack thereof.
