I will be using the following articles to rank motivations for cyber offending. <strong>1-7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Entertainment (https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2021\/07\/19\/man-behind-linkedin-scraping\/) &#8211; Money is a high motivation factor for cybercrime; however, many logical thinkers would not do crime simply for fun because the risks outrank the costs. So money places this motivation high but not at the top. <strong>3<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Political (https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/magazines\/panache\/new-generation-of-angry-youthful-hackers-join-the-hacktivism-wave-adding-to-cyber-security-woes\/articleshow\/81707844.cms)- Information warfare is very prevalent in our society. Information is extremely valuable and the passion behind this type of offending can overcoming rational thought. <strong>7<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revenge (https:\/\/newsfromwales.co.uk\/revenge-porn-victims-in-wales-often-feel-let-down-by-the-law-as-cybercrime-slips-through-the-net\/)- Revenge is a passion that has the ability to ruin lives, and cyber offending for revenge is no different. <strong>5<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boredom (https:\/\/www.heraldlive.co.za\/news\/2021-05-31-cyberbullying-and-online-sexual-grooming-of-children-on-the-increase\/)- The least passionate motivation, but yet still life ruining.<strong>1<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognition (https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/06\/30\/bradley_niblock_election_ddos\/)- Pride can also cause human beings to think illogically. <strong>2<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Money (https:\/\/threatresearch.ext.hp.com\/sex-drugs-and-toilet-rolls-how-cybercriminals-spend-their-money-infographic\/)- One of the most prevalent motivations is money. <strong>6<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multiple reasons (https:\/\/www.infosecurity-magazine.com\/news\/what-drives-hackers-to-a-life-of\/?<strong>cf_chl_jschl_tk<\/strong>=pmd_c1d89a4695edbd23f2bceb54d70f35ce5e536e86-1626721164-0-gqNtZGzNAfijcnBszQi6) <strong>4<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What are the motives for Cyber Offending?
