What do engineers do to make cyber networks safer?

Cyber engineers incorporate electrical engineering and computer science to understand cyberspace. They use skills developed in digital forensics, security policy and network defense to perform cybersecurity tasks, as well as work on engineering hardware and software. One simple thing engineers do to keep their cyber networks safe is consistently keeping up with updates making it harder for people to get into their network. By creating new and better cyber networks the engineers are making it harder for people to get into for unauthorized people to gain access to. Engineers also track all the cyber attacks on the networks so they can keep up to date on the websites so they can see what they can do to make it better. Furthermore Cyber Engineers will work in security operations, process control, network security, threat reduction and incident response, and other cybersecurity-related positions. Some graduates will work to design the next generation of connected devices, so that better cybersecurity measures can be built into the devices during design and production, before utilization and operation begins

What is the overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime? How does this overlap relate to the other disciplines discussed in this class?

Crime can happen anywhere, especially on the internet. To fill the need to fight crime there is cyber forensics which is the ability to track virtual evidence to solve criminal cases. Cyber forensics is very challenging because evidence can be faked online, deleted, or very hard to find. Cyber forensics will stand in court and provide evidence to help put criminals or cybercriminals away. Compared to the other jobs this class has discussed cyber forensics is one of the most challenging job. It can involve discovering information that is hidden behind encryptions, deleted, or even destroyed.
