• Andriy Slynchuk has described eleven things Internet users do that may be illegal. Review what the author says and write a paragraph describing the five most severe violations and why you think those offenses are serious.

The five most serious violations are bullying/ trolling, collecting information about children, faking an identity online, illegal searches, and sharing passwords/addresses/or photos of others. Bullying and trolling are always serious violations because even when done online, many people can still be hurt. While trolling maybe seen as harmless insults or jokes, there are real people behind screens, and there is a very real possibility of causing harm. Collecting information about children is very serious. The internet is a very dangerous place for children so to collect information about children can put a child at risk. Faking an identity online is as illegal as in person; a person’s identity online reflects them in the physical world, so if someone steals an individuals information they can attempt to ruin their reputation or their lives. While illegal searches may not seem bad, but there is always a risk that someone may actually want that information that they are searching for and that can harm many lives. For example if someone wants to make a bomb and they search for that information, it is a very serious violation. Lastly, sharing passwords/addresses/or photos of people without their consent is very dangerous because many malicious actors may go out of their way to cause harm, and this includes cases like stalking, kidnappings, and more.
