Engineers also have roles in monitoring networks and detect any intrusions. They would deploy tools to monitor and abnormal behaviors in the network and also deploy intrusion detection systems.  Real time monitoring for anomalies or unauthorized access is set up and rapid response plans are developed to mitigate said threats as soon as they are identified. Incident response planning something engineers develop as well as implement to address incidents involving security.
