Cybersecurity is not only a technical discipline but also strongly connected to the social sciences because it involves human behavior, ethics, privacy, and decision-making. Technology systems are built by people and used by people, which means social factors play a major role in how secure or vulnerable systems become.
Many cybersecurity incidents are caused not only by technical weaknesses but by human actions such as poor password habits, social engineering, and lack of awareness. Studying the social side of security helps professionals design better protections, policies, and user education.
As a Computer Engineering student, I am interested in understanding both the technical and human sides of cybersecurity. Combining engineering knowledge with social awareness leads to stronger and more responsible security solutions.
