Electronic data about individuals create ethical questions when the information is stored, which puts their privacy and secrecy at risk. Organizations must safeguard sensitive personal data to respect the right to privacy of their customers. Another ethical issue that occurs when electronic information is compromised can be identity theft, financial fraud, and other types of harm to people that can come from data breaches. Organizations have an ethical obligation to put strong security measures in place to protect customer information and react quickly to any breaches. More ethical issues arise while implementing electronic information storage systems. In order to reduce the likelihood of unexpected consequences or misuse, organizations must take into account the potential repercussions on individuals’ privacy, maintain transparency in data collection and utilization, acquire informed consent, and give proper training to personnel managing the data. Finally, in the case of data management, it is necessary to maintain reliable and precise data storage. Inaccuracies or outdated data can result in incorrect conclusions, racial prejudice, and damage to users. Businesses that engage in data management need to set up processes for validating data, offer users an opportunity to review and update their own personal information and preserve the integrity of data on an ongoing basis.

Cybersecurity risks affect countries differently so they have differing needs. A country such as the United States, a global leader, faces threats from all over the world from adversarial nations, crime groups, and individuals looking to cause some damage. It is also rich in data and information, making it a high-quality target for cybercrime. Compared to a smaller country like Slovakia, the United States faces much more. Slovakia is not nearly center stage and therefore has less frequent and less advanced attacks on its’ systems and information. Both countries have different needs when it comes to cybersecurity, so both nations have to respond differently.
