Assingment #5 – Entry #5

Knowing that your computer is safe is a huge task. There are many different ways someone can hack into your device without you even knowing it. However, there are some ways that you can prevent this from happening. One of those ways is using things such as firewalls and unique passwords to help prevent your computer from attacks. Your device is never truly safe from hackers. There are ways that you can mitigate any risk that you may have. One good sign that your computer is safe is that it is acting normally and nothing is going awry. Microsoft give us some helpful suggestions to mitigate the risk. One thing would be to not click on any links that you don’t know, and to not participate with pirated material. Doing all of these things can make it so that your computer is safer against any potential attacks. Whether technology has made life safe or not is up For debate. However, I believe that technology has made us safer. In an article by Mental Floss, they give us some examples of how our lives are made safer and easier. In our current day and age, the protection of our personal data is very important. There are currently systems in place to help aid us with that. Things such as facial recognition, fingerprint recognition, password encryption, and protected websites can all help to protect our personal data. We are living in an age where it is very easy to know someone’s personal information. To combat this many Companies are implementing new ways to protect our data and mitigate the risk. On the other hand, there are ways that technology has not kept us safe. It is a lot easier for hackers to target the average person. A group of hackers can target a very important person. Technology has basically streamline the process.
