Cyber technology has created the platform for a lot of deviance to occur in the workplace. As technology grows and humans get more creative, the ability for hackers to hack a business greatly increases. Every year, new technology is being created. This technology can be used against businesses to greatly harm them. One example of this is something simple like a card reader. Hackers nowadays know how to use a card reader to copy an employee’s card. This gives them access to everything that employee would have access to. Also with the rise of search engines such as Google, people can find out how to hack very easily. Many cybercriminals happen to be on the younger side. Due to the large amount of information that is readily available, people can learn how to hack very easily. This puts a damper on the workplace and its environment. Now, businesses must properly prepare and assess risk every day. Having a good cyber security program isn’t a sense of steps to mitigate the risk of your business. Small businesses do not have this luxury. However, it is important that every business has a good and thorough plan for how to deal with the risk of the new Cyber Technologies. As explained by an article by Investopedia, cybercrime has altered the ways that businesses operate. When a cyber crime occurs, the business have to re-evaluate how to stop that from happening again. This involves changing a lot of rules and policies. Since cyber technology is growing, it becomes a lot easier for hackers to become a nuisance for businesses. A lot more cyber attacks are happening every single day. Going back to my original statement, having a well-rounded cybersecurity program is essential for the workplace. Since cyberattacks are increasing it is vital that the workplace has a way to mitigate the risks they are facing.
