Engineers make cyber networks a lot safer. There are many ways that the engineers change and develop different systems in order to make them safer. First, what do the engineers do? They help to manage and create different cyber networks and fix any issues that may arise. Anytime that an issue arises, the engineers get to work and work with the information security specialists so that they can solve the problem quicker. When a system has problems in it, it can cause harm to any of the users. It is the engineers job to help create better systems where the risk is mitigated. They do this by solving problems, protecting sensitive data, and creating new systems that are safer and easier to use. As time goes on, different cyber networks become safer.
When discussing cybercrime, it is important we make the distinction between cybercrime and criminal justice. Cybercrime, as defined by Britannica, is “the use of a computer as an instrument to further illegal ends.” (Britannica) Where it differs from criminal justice is the that criminal justice deals with what most people would consider “normal” crimes to be. Due to the rise of technology, cybercrime has risen a lot. Hackers are finding new and inventive ways to steal people’s sensitive information. Cybercrime also deals more with information rather than a physical person. The hacker wants information and they usually do not want to physically harm the person. Even though cybercrime has risen, many criminal justice departments are not teaching their students about it. Many older people are not knowledgeable on the topic so the students do not know what to look for. However, it is important that different laws and practices are put into place so that cybercrime can be taken more seriously. It is important we feel the weight of how cybercrime can impact us.
