End-of-term Reflection

One thing I learned in cell biology that really helped me connect to my other coursework was DNA replication. As a pre-nursing major taking mostly science courses this semester, I noticed a lot of overlap between my classes, especially between genetics and cell biology. We first discussed DNA replication in genetics, and shortly after we began learning about it in cell biology, which helped me understand the process much more deeply. Since genetics went very in depth into how DNA replication works, I was able to better comprehend the material when it appeared again in cell biology. I was also surprised to see concepts from this course connect to topics in my nutrition biochemistry class, which showed me how interconnected the sciences really are. In the end, this class has helped me realize that cell biology is the foundation for many other science and healthcare courses I will take in the future and has helped me grow as a stem student.
