Technology has greatly impacted each level of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Technology has become a great part of my life and our lives, while playing a crucial role in our overall well-being and happiness as well. All of these levels relate to my experiences with technology. When looking at the hierarchy from bottom to top, it starts off with physiological needs. I use multiple devices and apps to monitor and maintain my mental health. Safety needs relates to passwords, security and privacy software, which I have multiple passwords and apps that generate passwords for me so there is no possible way for my assets to be harmed. Love and belonging: I have had and created multiple relationships and friendships over technology connecting with people, new and old, with social media. Esteem: Through technology, I have created websites, or videos to gain recognition and validation. Lastly, there is self-actualization: online courses and virtual events have helped me a lot. Software such as zoom has changed the virtual world.
