I completed the Social Media Disorder Scale and scored a 3.0. On the website I used, which was https://www.psytoolkit.org/cgi-bin/3.4.4/survey?s=rpWyS, it says that a score of 5 or higher indicates the formal diagnosis of a disordered social media user. What I think about the items /questions in the scale is that they make sense. I am on social media for quite long; however I feel like I do not depend on it. I find myself doing multiple other things other than being on social media. I think that different patterns are found across the world because of multiple factors such as culture norms, social pressures, and accessibility to technology, or how they were raised. Some cultures may have a lot of face to face interactions or there are lots of virtual communication causing the person to be on social media. Also, me personally, I had limited screen time when I was younger, and maybe that is why I am not on social media as much when compared to friends of mine who are on it way more.
