After reviewing the NICE Workforce Framework, one certain area that appeals to me the most and what I would want to focus my career on would be the category of Collect and Operate. And specifically, the specialty area of Cyber Operations. According to cisa.gov, a cyber operator “Performs activities to gather evidence on criminal or foreign intelligence entities to mitigate possible or real-time threats, protect against espionage or insider threats, foreign sabotage, international terrorist activities, or to support other intelligence activities.” I looked over the knowledge, skills, and tasks of a cyber operator, and I have a few that I have gained already and there are many that I am looking forward to obtaining in the near future of my career. The area that appeals to me the least even though I did not look too much into it, is the category of Investigate. This is because I am not that bad at pointing out crimes or events relating to these technical systems. I just do not feel like I can handle the responsibility of an area.
