Thank you for visiting my page.
My name is Alena Dubavaya. I am a novice nurse and have not worked in a clinical setting yet, even though I have held my license for a year now. I graduated as a valedictorian with an associate degree in May of 2024 and was proud of all the hard work I’ve done. The mandatory 500 hours of hands-on training, required to graduate, were extremely important in gaining valuable nursing skills, improving communication and figuring out which field of nursing might be the most suitable for my type of personality and professional goals. My initial goal was to work in aesthetics but I am staying open to other opportunities. Instead of diving into the profession upon graduation like a lot of my nursing school peers, I have chosen to concentrate on family life and academic advancement by completing the RN to BSN program from ODU.
I live in Southwest Virginia with my family. My husband and I relocated here from Denver, CO during the Covid-19 pandemic to be closer to his family and start a family of our own. I am originally from Belarus (Eastern Europe) and speak Russian; however, English has become my primary language now. I have a four-month-old daughter and a three-year-old son, a dog, a rental business shared with my husband and I have no free time. If I do find a quiet moment amongst the chaos, I might read some non-fiction, talk to family members that are overseas or watch Saturday Night Live.
